Not really sure on the Plot, think that Ex WWII Paratrooper played by Huge O'Brien has flashbacks/nightmares or something, and reconnects with his wartime buddy (Lloyd Bridges) who's still serving in the Army to put his mind at ease. Found the beginning of this episode.

patches Posted January 28, 2021 Author Share #404 Posted January 28, 2021 The 1st Army patch on Beau Bridges and an actor named Robert Bannard (Bannard didn't really pursue a career in show business), The year, 1967, in this dark decay of urban New York setting of a movie with Tony Musante and a young Martin Sheen as criminal punks, but also with a well known cast, Brock Peters, Ruby Dee, Jack Gilford, Mike Kellin et al, it's called The Incident, released November 7 1967, Both Pfc's on leave, or maybe a pass, 1st Army right, looks like Inf Discs, as inaccurate that is, unless they're Infantry AIT Trainees from Dix on a Pass as Bannard's character, Pfc. Phillip Carmatti, is from New York while Bridges, Pfc. Felix Teflinger is from Oklahoma and is Carmatti's best buddy and takes his pass with him to see NY NY. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Incident_(1967_film)#Cast

YOUNG RANK: PRIVATE CONFLICT/ERA: WORLD WAR II UNIT: 148TH INFANTRY, 37TH INFANTRY DIVISION MEDAL OF HONOR ACTION DATE: JULY 31, 1943 MEDAL OF HONOR ACTION PLACE: NEW GEORGIA CITATION On 31 July 1943, the infantry company of which Pvt. Young was a member, was ordered to make a limited withdrawal from the battle line in order to adjust the battalion's position for the night. At this time, Pvt. Young's platoon was engaged with the enemy in a dense jungle where observation was very limited. The platoon suddenly was pinned down by intense fire from a Japanese machine gun concealed on higher ground only 75 yards away. The initial burst wounded Pvt. Young. As the platoon started to obey the order to withdraw, Pvt. Young called out that he could see the enemy emplacement, whereupon he started creeping toward it. Another burst from the machine gun wounded him the second time. Despite the wounds, he continued his heroic advance, attracting enemy fire and answering with rifle fire. When he was close enough to his objective, he began throwing hand grenades, and while doing so was hit again and killed. Pvt. Young's bold action in closing with this Japanese pillbox, and thus diverting its fire, permitted his platoon to disengage itself, without loss, and was responsible for several enemy casualties. Here we see the two 4th Division GIs, I believe they were from the 4th Reconnaissance Troop Mecz, Sgt Warren played by Anthony Perkins and his buddy a Private named Charlie played by Skip Ward, as per usual we see the ubiquitous M2 Carbines that were forever being used in War Movies from the post war period well into the 80s, as wearing the M43 Field Jacket instead of the more accurate M41,plus Charlie has the post 1952 bracket chin straps on his pot. This still is one that was taken right before Sgt Warren is killed by a sniper's bullet as he lets his guard down by daydreaming and fantasizing about always wanting to visit Paris as he sips a glass of wine handed to him by a happy barkeep, I always thought this was a sad scene, and for some reason always moved by it. Came across another view of the above sequence and a later scene where the IVY Division patch is now seen on Anthony Perkins. Hey for once they're using the correct BAZOOKA a late-sh war M9 2.36 one, and not the post war SUPER BAZOOKA one always expects to see

In 1948 she got married to director Edward Dmytryk, they stayed married till Edward Dmytryk's death in 1999 at age 90, Porter herself passed in January 2018 at 95. Here's some of her pics, one where she is chosen as Miss PT BOAT.

patches Posted June 5, 2021 Author Share #419 Posted June 5, 2021 Two from movies I have to admit I never seen. The AC patch on John Hodiak, a wartime movie Sunday Dinner For A Soldier, released December 1944, Hodiak with Co Star Anne Baxter there, in 1946 these two get married in real life, they had one child, unfortunately it doesn't last, years later Baxter blames herself for the divorce, I think she was really devastated by his sudden death a couple of years after they broke up, Hodiak having a heart attack at the age 41, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunday_Dinner_for_a_Soldier
