Jamecharles Posted June 2, 2012 #1 Posted June 2, 2012 Hi all i wanna show you one of my 1936 Blue dress uniform engineer corps, i've catch it few months ago but i was not able to take some photos until this evening . I've set it as a Blue dress set so colored shoulder board instead bullion shoulder knots, ribbons and without dress belt. This uniform could be used in 3 differents ways: - Blue dress : classic white shirt , black tie, ribbons , jacket with shoulder epaulette (made just like the USN epaulette but with colors of the arms you'r assigned) visor and trousers - Full Blue dress : white shirt , black tie, medals , jacket with shoulder knot visor, dress belt and trousers - Special Blue dress : Tuxedo white shirt , black Bowtie, medals , jacket with shoulder knot visor, dress belt and trousers hope you like it and hope to recive alot of good comments down here Ciao PS: in the first photo i forgot to put on the us and engineer pins and in the second photo i've exposed another engineer Blue dress but in 1937 version, just the most famous one to comparison ( unfortunatelly without shoulder boards but they 'll arrive soon.... hope so!) Giancarlo
Justin B. Posted June 2, 2012 #2 Posted June 2, 2012 That's a great example to have, the 1936 model was pretty short-lived! I assume "Essayons" buttons on the shoulder boards? I have to admit I can see why they switched to shoulder straps, the big colored boards look a little over-the-top. Thanks for showing, Justin B.
Jamecharles Posted June 2, 2012 Author #3 Posted June 2, 2012 all buttons are essayons here a detail of the shoulder pads, on backs are marked meyers in gold ink just like some of USN officer SHoulder board. I'm really curious to see other 1936 BD uniforms, i've 4 examples in my collection but i never seen others around, if any forum member have one please post here could be really great see others Giancarlo

mklyx Posted November 22, 2025 #6 Posted November 22, 2025 Looks like the pics are obsolete and could no longer be loaded. Could anyone help share them again there? Thanks!
mklyx Posted November 22, 2025 #7 Posted November 22, 2025 Also, is there a place to find the complete document of War Dept. Circular 66 on 13 October 1936? Does it include official sketches/images showing the specs of the 1936 Blue Dress uniform?
