sighgone Posted June 1, 2012 Share #1 Posted June 1, 2012 It is beginning to be that time, 40-50 years, that nose art images from the helicopter war in Vietnam ought to be surfacing and/or becoming more available to those interested in this subject. Like WWII & Korea it took over two generations for many of the documents and images to finally see the light, and enter into the public domain. Knowing how much the genre of WWII aviation artwork transformed the entire literature of this artform I'm wondering if the VN war will be able to contribute anything new to subject. Maybe Ken Burns in 2016 can rustle up some colorful nose art images to showcase a very unpublicized part of the VN conflict. Let's hope so.
