A beautiful collection, congratulations on putting together one fine collection and presenting it so well here.

Love the way you superimposed the items over a back ground scene.

How did you do that?

Thanks for sharing your collection with us, Ray

Thanks Guys,

I use Paintshop Pro for quite a few years now.

Here is a officer's helmetshell, found in a small museum in Bastogne, that the owner sold to me. It was a grounddug found in the area.

A modern DSM i've bought around 10 years ago at a small show here in Germany for nearly 20 German Marks. The engraving looks privately done, but for 20 marks !!!

A nice officers uniform worn by Lt. L'herault.

He landed shortly after D-Day as a replacement for the 4th ID and continued to fight with it into Germany.

  • 2 weeks later...

Today i got a letter from the NPRC St.Louis w00t.gif

It included more info on Lt L'herault.

He joined company D, 8th Infantry, 4th Division as a replacement, a few days after D-Day. He went up the ranks to SSgt and earned a battlefield commission in April 1945.

He served with HQ company, 1st Bn., 8th Infantry, 4th Division as a 2nd Lt.

He was awarded a Bronze star.

I took his uniform and added the missing insignias for this picture.

regards,

Stephan
