history-buff1944 Posted July 15, 2012 #26 Posted July 15, 2012 Good stuff my friend thats for sharing. Here's one a 1962 Korean War movie, Robert Redford, John Saxon, and a rare acting apperance by the later, very well known Producer Sydney Pollack. Nice and Rare piece--rare because this movie did not have a wide opening and not much material available to collect. I have a half-sheet poster for: Away All Boats w/ Jeff Chandler, and others. This movie is an early Clint Eastwood appearance as a Med orderly. I dont have a photo of this yet but--it was used in a Theater in Michegan and even has that info printed on it.
trenchbuff Posted July 15, 2012 #27 Posted July 15, 2012 "A Bridge Too Far" Long movie, but still one of my favorites.
trenchbuff Posted July 15, 2012 #28 Posted July 15, 2012 This movie sparked my interest in WW1 aviation. "The Blue Max"
12thengr Posted July 16, 2012 #30 Posted July 16, 2012 Copy of lobby card that came with the DVD. Thanks; History Buff, Trench Buff, Patches and all others; I'm quite over matched.

sigsaye Posted July 29, 2012 #35 Posted July 29, 2012 Here's one for you sailors of the late 60s early 70s, a real period piece, I do believe I should get this from Amazon on DVD. Great book and outstanding movie. I used to have my boys watch it as a training film  Jack did play a Signalman after all Steve Hesson (who wore his white hat like that too)
uplandmod Posted August 21, 2012 #36 Posted August 21, 2012 Checking out the Japanese sites today and came across this beauty The Japanese issue poster for the Sands Of Iwo Jima. One of my least favorite war films ever, only if was as great as this poster leads on to be! Leonardo
patches Posted August 21, 2012 Author #37 Posted August 21, 2012 To not like the Sands of Iwo Jima, why.. WHY THATS UNAMERICAN!
uplandmod Posted August 21, 2012 #38 Posted August 21, 2012 I know...I know.....but a Iwo Jima film that doesn't have a Stinger doing its thing, a terrier in a lower Knapsack and Medical Brandy just isn't an Iwo Jima Film! Leonardo
renfield Posted October 6, 2012 #39 Posted October 6, 2012 Well it is not a poster but a newspaper add from 1943, I think. something B-17 related I had to have. Steve
Croix de Guerre Posted October 6, 2012 #40 Posted October 6, 2012 Here is a real early one for you. In World War One the American Ambulance Field Service hired a film company to document their work and the efforts of the Lafayette Escadrille. Titled "Our American Boys in the European War", this film was shown throughout the country in an effort to aid in recruiting volunteers and as a means to wake the country up from it's slumber.
RustyCanteen Posted October 7, 2012 #41 Posted October 7, 2012 Nice posters, I used to collect some; their size can be an issue.

patches Posted December 16, 2012 Author #44 Posted December 16, 2012 This is a poster for Fighter Squadron, a 1948 movie.
history-buff1944 Posted December 23, 2012 #45 Posted December 23, 2012 This is a poster for Fighter Squadron, a 1948 movie. Nice Lobby Card. Its because of the workmanship in these earlier LCs is why I love collecting them so much. The style used on this one is like ones used in: Unconquered as well as The Buccaneer and War and Peace.
