After seeing 67Rally's masthead light, I knew I had to find one. I did alot of searching and finally found one at a good price. Unfortunately it came painted, but was labeled as cast metal. I knew it was brass. When it came in the mail I was very pleased. I worked on the light for a few days and the brass polished nicely. It now sits on the shelf and also the light works great. I also have another one and it is also red. I guess I now have to find a green lens and a clear lens. Thanks for looking.

Ha ha!!

Good on ya! That's a nice one. Any idea of the ship it came from?

I found a nice dimmer that I am wiring mine with as those lamps are ferociously intense regardless of the color of the dome.

Did you wire up the 110v plug yourself or was it already done?

Thanks,

I have no idea which ship this one came from. This one was already wired up for household power and all I had to do was clean her up. My other one is from the USS John Rodgers DD-983, which was scrapped in 2006. I like the idea of a dimmer because these lights are very bright. The DD-983 light has six (6) bulbs and is extremely bright.

Please show us your light when you get her done !!

When I get it all done, I will gladly share. I still need to finish the wood base and I have to hit the trophy shop to get the engraved piece ordered.
