Austin R Posted April 29, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 29, 2012 I just picked all this up from a woman who went to an auction at a vintage clothing museum. A new fashion show on bravo was bidding against her for the lot. I can't imagine what they were going to do to it. I'm happy that it was saved.2nd Service Corps Nurse grouping 7th Armored Division Uniform European HQ ShirtNavy MailmanI will try to get better photos later

sigsaye Posted April 29, 2012 Share #4 Posted April 29, 2012 There was nothing else. What would she be considered then? Some one who was assigned to a medical unit, could have been a clerk, supply, cook, or medical orderly, driver, anything other than a Nurse. Not every one assigned to medical units are medical personell. Steve Hesson

Austin R Posted May 2, 2012 Author Share #6 Posted May 2, 2012 I found a name on the uniform. It belonged to a Olive (Olivia) J Brown who was 49 when she enlisted. It says she was widowed; is it possible that her husband was KIA?
Austin R Posted May 2, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted May 2, 2012 I found a name on the uniform. It belonged to a Olive (Olivia) J Brown who was 49 when she enlisted. It says she was widowed; is it possible that her husband was KIA? I think it was a mistake by the NARA because the age limit of enlistment was 18-35. I believe her husband was unfortunately killed during the war. http://wwiimemorial.com/registry/wardept/p...=1&tcount=
