hink441 Posted April 29, 2012 Share #5 Posted April 29, 2012 They did not wait a long time to get him back in the saddle again. Two days later he was flying again.
hawkdriver Posted April 29, 2012 Share #6 Posted April 29, 2012 Could have been a post crash eval. Typically, after a big accident, you have to take a checkride to make sure you can actually fly the thing.
hink441 Posted April 30, 2012 Share #7 Posted April 30, 2012 Could have been a post crash eval. Typically, after a big accident, you have to take a checkride to make sure you can actually fly the thing. According to his log entry (1A15 & 1A16) he flew a day, unit training , fundamentals/transition/air-combat. It appears to be a typical at sea sortie. I wonder if he ran out of fuel and ejected because of a foul deck onboard the carrier, or no tankers ???? No doubt this is a cool logbook!! All speculation but still very interesting.
