USER SUSPENSION: mgkusmc

Members of the USMF community:

 

Today the administration was forced to suspend the account of community member "mgkusmc."

 

Several members made allegations that "mgkusmc" had been dishonest in his transactions with them.

 

In one particular instance involving a patch, mgkusmc accepted delivery of the patch from the seller (who kindly sent prior to receiving payment) and mgkusmc never sent payment. Mgkusmc did claim he had sent payment. The seller attempted to contact mgkusmc for further information and to hopefully get to the bottom of the ordeal. However, mgkusmc failed to respond to any further communications. In fact, the seller reported that after his last demand mgkusmc abruptly stopped using the forum. As of today, mgkusmc still has the patch and the seller has received absolutely no response.

 

Several other reports involved a large "for sale" list mgkusmc had posted. Mgkusmc accepted money (primarily via PayPal) from interested buyers. Some buyers reported lengthy delays before receiving the items. Others reported that the item was never received. When members demanded the item and/or their money back, mgkusmc stopped responding to PMs or emails.

 

In an interest to protect the members of this community, his account has been banned. Please use caution should you be contacted by any individual bearing this username or other known usernames, such as kirbyusmc, kirbym351, or dog508th. On other sites, he has listed that his name is "Michael Kirby" and his email is [email protected]. This person was alleged to have made inconsistent statements about his military service, although he strongly denies those and insists he did in fact serve in the Marine Corps and got a disability discharge.

It has come to my attention that this above message could perhaps confuse the scammer "Michael Kirby" with one of our long-time members "dogface1944," who is also named Michael Kirby.

 

Please, in NO way is the "Michael Kirby" from Maryland, who has been an upstanding member of this forum, as well as the living history and collecting community, to be confused with the individual that was suspended by our board. Dogface1944 /Michael Kirby has been an honest militaria collector for well over 20 years. He has no history whatsoever of being dishonest.

 

So, if members receive messages or know Dogface1944 /Michael Kirby (in Maryland) you have nothing to worry about.

 

Sorry for any confusion and a BIG apology to dogface1944 if it confused anyone.

Have added additional details regarding this individual, who was recently found amongst membership under a different username. It is expected he will make additional attempts to return, so please be careful and report any suspecious activity to the administration immediately.

Thought maybe we should add an update to this one.

 

Up until Friday he was using the name Mike Gordon on Facebook and decided to troll as many Facebook pages he could, to pass a story about a ADMIN member here Tarbridge and a Purple Heart story. He started it on the US Militaria Forum's Facebook page. When called out why he posted he commented something along the lines of " He thought he would post and just sit back". It turned into many hours of BS that all the mods there had to cover and a lot of bannings happened. Within a hour he had changed his name to Martin Sugar on Facebook. We were contacted be many members telling us how many different names he has used.
