Hi Rene, hahhaa, back in my 20's and possibly 30's I used to set the dash accelerator knob to a steady speed and stand on the seat with my arms outstretched and the steering wheel between my knees. The other one was to set the dash accelerator and walk by the side of the Jeep with one hand on the wheel to keep it in a straight line. Another ' trick ' was to sit on top of the dash facing to the rear of the Jeep and continue driving forwards in the normal direction. Oh the fun to be had with a Jeep. ( of course I am not recommending any of this to other owners ) Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, August 22 2022. ... Ha! If there was only video! I'm sure I typed "I live" NOT "I love" The I and the O are right next to each other so it’s easy to hit the wrong letter. I constantly text “I live you” to my better half. Since spell check doesn’t catch the mistake I spend a lot of time proof reading because I have more mistakes than just live and live.

Hi Mikie, I am having similar problems I have to read everything several times and take out the wrongly spelt words it puts in, the one most commonly added wrongly at present is the letter Y added into ' the ' as in ' thye ' . . . . . . . I can almost guarantee I have to edit posts on the forum at least once maybe two or three edits per post. . . . . . . Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, August 22 2022. ... Johan Willaert Posted August 22, 2022 Share #21585 Posted August 22, 2022 Another rather uncommon vehicle at last weekend's show was this Chevrolet 1 1/2Ton 4x4 Panel Truck in US Army Signal Corps set-up. This vehicle had the Signal Corps designation K51... In the field it would generally tow a trailer with generator to power the radios inside the truck. Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, August 22 2022. ... Recall 1061 and 1062 were a common number at one time. May have to do with the base having a single contact or a double contact. In many cars for the signal lamps you have either a single filament or a double filament in the older bayonet base styles like these lamps. Seems I use to use a 1157? quite often. Would have to check Pins could be off set or in line on the body I recall depending on the socket set up and bulb used. As for the MAZDA name it was a trade name given to the bulb/lamp itself and here is more info than maybe we need on it origins http://www.aldenhill.com/Community_Event_Text/the_mazda_lamp_story.pdf

mikie Posted August 23, 2022 Share #21599 Posted August 23, 2022 Sorry, not military, hope you don't mind. Here are a couple of shots of my neighbor's 1939 International Harvester 1939 pick up (that is my humble abode on the other side of the hedge). He bought it a few years ago from a hardware store chain going out of business sale. It has been in and out of the repair shop for long periods and spends a lot of time under a cover. But it does run. Did IH supply this type of truck during the war? Mikie
