Hi Ron, Thanks for all the images, yes the aerial shots are very familiar, but much more difficult to get matching images. Always makes me wonder the reason when vehicles are going in opposite directions to one-another, the track looks like it has a quad-50's mount in the rear. Amazing the farmer stood in the middle of the junction, wonder how many vehicles of different nationalities he has seen passing by there. Norman D. doyler Posted July 21, 2022 #21269 Posted July 21, 2022 Nice colorized photo of a War time sailor and his motorcycle. No info was posted with it. Looks like a submarine docked in the background
Salvage Sailor Posted July 21, 2022 #21270 Posted July 21, 2022 I believe that this is a posed photograph. The ship in the background would not be flying the national standard, but rather a Navy Jack on her bow as are these four submarines.
Johan Willaert Posted July 21, 2022 #21271 Posted July 21, 2022 The photo of the sailor on the Harley is indeed a posed and modern picture The Navy Harley belongs to Sarafan, a HD parts dealer The soles on the shoes are a give away too

Hi Salvage Sailor and Johan, just came on-line before heading to bed and see that you had beaten me to the decision that this wasn't a WWII colourised image. I had passed my suspicions onto several friends off-forum, personally the shoes, the denims, the belt and the shirt pocket flaps put me off believing it was genuine. Thanks Salvage for the detail on the Jack, and also Johan for the mention of Sarafan . . . . . . . . Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, July 23 2022. ...
