I'm quite sure it wasn't the artist's intent to depict a no.2 in progress but like Mikie I don't know diddly squat about modern art either. The real reason for being there was this: A replica of a Dutch VOC (armed)freight ship called the Batavia. The orginal was built between 1627 and 1628. This replica took a little longer. Hi earlymb, well I forgot to say that handle #4 is the one I carry in the Jeep should it disappear or be lost it wouldn't be like the loss of one of the Ford or Willys marked ones, the one marked ' G-503 ' with the wire wound handle is a post war Armee Francais example . . . . . . . the Ford and the Willys are stored in the Shoebox. . The UK post office have finally released a set of stamps honouring women that served in WWII, the stamps cover Air, Land & Sea service-women, also women that took over mens jobs during the war such as farming and forestry work. A great pity that these stamps weren't issued years ago whilst many of the women were still alive and felt that their services were valued. . Norman D.
