Hi Kat & CrustyBosun,

My UK Jeeping friend Len has emailed me two examples of Dzus tools he has, and it would appear that the driver of the Jeep shown below might possibly need one as it has been converted using a B-17 crew cabin.

Hi Johan, if you hear someone knocking on your door, it may be me.  Somebody brought a box of Belgian chocolates to the office.  They are wonderful and I am now thinking of moving to Belgium.  You won't mind me moving in while I find a place, would you?

Oh that poor little jeep.

Looks like one that had been used by part of Otto Skorzenys Einheit Stielau jeep group. Ambushed by the Americans during the Bulge.

Fiddling around in the collection building, I came across these metal plates which were used during WW2 by US Army MPs and other units as information or traffic signs...
We still used these back in the mid 1980s when I was a motorcycle MP stationed in Germany and when that unit was disbanded and returned to Belgium I took several of these plates home...
Anyway after seeing some original examples on WW2 footage or in museums, I decided to paint some accordingly...

First is an original sign which is on display in the Normandy Victory Museum in Catz, France, along with my recreation...

Hi Johan,

Great additions all the signage you have added, little details that say a lot.

I suppose in the military the shoulders were swept for mines, in the barbers the shoulders would be swept for dandruff . . . . . .  ;)

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?

Apologies a date correction it would have been Ian's 69th birthday

I just received the following photo from Ian's wife Sian, taken on a very cold wet day at Penarth Pier over a plaque dedicated to Ian.

Hi AG,

Thanks, I think that the open mouthed facial image would be very much the same as a result of listening to ' Whole lotta Love '  🤘

Strange thinking fifty years have passed already . . . . . . . . . . . .

In December 1989 during a Winter military vehicle rally we re-enacted Stielau jeep group members...
We all wore blue scarves and dangling helmet straps and painted the small yellow triangle on the back of our Jeeps as recognition signs for Skorzeny's PzBde 150...

No-one realized what we were really doing...

Hi AG,

thought I couldn't let pass this opportunity to show the link for Ann & Nancy Wilsons stunning rendition of ' Stairway to Heaven ' performed at the Kennedy centre in 2012 honouring the lifetime achievements of Led Zeppelin.

Watching Jason Bonham brings back great memories for me of being at Bonham's house and watching Jason Bonham as a five year old playing an outstanding set on his very own drum set . . . . . . . . . . so many memories, and drink beer at ' Bonzo's Bar ' , sadly no camera phones in those days.

Enjoy !!!!

Hi Peter.

So many favourite songs so little time . . . . . . . . .

I do love the deep base line on ' Dazed & Confused '  . . . . .

But ' Stairway to heaven ' has a deep meaning for me to be sat with Bob when he wrote the words to Stairway to Heaven with a sharpie on a freshly rendered wall inside his farmhouse . . . . . . . no bloody camera phones then.  As I was the only person in the room it would have been an iconic capture.

I just pondered about adding a 2021 satellite image of Bob's farm and annotating where various 70's photographs were taken on the farm, but then I thought even though he doesn't live there any longer it might be an infringement of the current owners rights.

Hi Lewis and Simon,

Have any of you visited Henri-Chapelle in Belgium? There is one interesting WWII location there that quite surprised me.

Mine is "Ramble On" but so many amazing Zep tunes and to think that one of ours here was there when these amazing pieces of music were made, but when they were actually written!  Holy Moley, combining my 2 favorite things.....music and history.  Now this is what makes this forum and the people on here AMAZING!
