Hi Ken, that is a lovely magazine cover.... I found a "similar" wartime (non military) example, which I just had to get framed. It caught my eye for sure.....

Hi Imrobil,

yes ' they ' went out of fashion in 1934 because of the Hay's Office strictures regarding what was acceptable in films.

Hi Graham,

I think I see your attraction to this strange magazine, I see it's called ' SPOT ', is that in relation to the ' spot ' close to her right nostril . . . . . 😹

...

More likely it refers to the spot of bother you got yourself into when caught 'reading' such a magazine

Hi Rene,

How Funny I should just get back from the auction to see that you made a post about S#IT on a Shingle . . . . . .

and I have to report that my S#IT in a Box caused quite a bit of amusement at the auction and actually did very well price wise 370 euros. !!

Due to illness Nigel one of my local friends here in Normandy watched the auction on-line, reading the auction blurb he noticed that they print a disclaimer regarding the on-line translations they use and he said my items number #86 were badly translated.  Now I know that I offered the items for sale in item #86, BUT I DIDN'T offer whats said in the description to the winning bid . . . . . . . . .

I still make this as we would have it over mashed potatoes at school and home when I was a young pup. I also make the Old school lunch lady hamburger gravy... its SOS but with hamburger instead of the chipped beef.

Hi Johan,

It was a balmy 36F when I took dear pup Gunji for walkies at 7:00 AM.  Don't tell the moderators, but I'm wearing my 1939 dated British scarf comforter. Gunji didn't seem to mind the temperature at all.
