Hi Graham,

well this is a quick post I am off to bed the minute I finish typing this, it's 03h35 and it's been a 23 hour day today along with a  couple of Gin & Tonics as have most of the days this week.  I will have to file some reports after the weekend.

I see a recurring theme in your pictures (and I'm not talking about those old green vehicles). I'm not complaining, though

The 6/6/2022 celebrations look like so much fun!  Showed my wife the photos posted here and suggested that we plan on attending the 80th anniversary in 2024.  She’s all for it!  At some point, maybe you veteran attendees can give the rest of us some pointers for attending?

Hi Rene,

Yes you're right there's something uniform about the photos I added,  that's it the uniforms . . . . . . . . . . . . 😹

Rene,  Have you seen this Dutch film about Holland during WWII.

D-Day Wings Museum Visit 08 June 2022 . . . . . .

We visited the D-Day Wings Museum this week and saw this rare original U.S. Blimp and also seen in use in Weymouth UK, prior to loading for D-Day.

Got back from the Normandy trip a couple of days and have finished sorting my gear and photos...
A wonderful week like the ones we use to have pre-covid times... Great to see so many vehicles and old friends, and picking up some stuff for the collection along the way...
My fellow-travellers now know MVCG does not stand for Military Vehicle Conservation Group, but rather Military Vehicle CONVERSATION Group... LOL!!!

Here's one of my photos showing Ken's Jeep in the Sainte Marie du Mont church square on June 6th....

The usual suspects after dinner at the A10 Canteen at Catz, Normandy.
The restaurant is located on the grounds of the temporary US Army 9th Air Forces Advanced Landing Grounds #10, with a nice museum in the adjacent buildings...

One owner/driver was trying to fool everyone with this one of a kind prototype armored Jeep or other vehicle complete with WW2 photos on the side....
What he didn't know is that many of us actually study period photos for details... ;-)
I'll let you decide for yourselves....

And then there was this.... A French 1950s Mobylette moped...
Nothing to do with the 1944 Normandy invasion, but identical to the one my dad left me when he passed in 2016...
Planning to get it back on the road next winter....

This was nice too...
A pre-WW2 Citroën Traction, painted as the one used by the father of the current owner while he was fighting with the French resistance in 1944

All great photos, Johan, but I kind of like this one best.  Hope you all had a great time!
