Yesterday we visited the D-Day wings museum at Carpiquet airport near Caen, here is one of the items I discovered there a Shell-Mex & BP 200 ltr fuel barrel this barrel is dated 3-1939. The Partnership started in 1932 and finished in 1976, never seen one before, expected it to be the usual German manufactured barrel with the two steel rings around the outside. also a photo of the airfield hangers when it was finally captured after four days of fighting. .
