topdcnut Posted April 3, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 3, 2012 Any one have any info on this kids uniform. My friend dug it up and thinks it dates from the 20's based on the tag. It has the look of an earlier uniform and for being "economical" has a lot of detail. T/Y John

Lee Ragan Posted April 3, 2012 Share #4 Posted April 3, 2012 Looks like one of those little Dough Boy uniforms you sometimes will see in photos taken during the 1920's. I've seen these photos before and some of the little guys even have miniature tin helmets and of course, toy rifles. Seems like back in those days when the country was much more patriotic, dressing kids up in uniforms and sailor suits was common.
Sabrejet Posted April 3, 2012 Share #5 Posted April 3, 2012 Ironic isn't it....PC has made kids dressing up and playing "war" like we did when we were kids somehow unacceptable. Yet, modern kids can sit for hours on end in front of their PlayStations and wipe out virtual armies and no-one bats an eye-lid!?
vintageproductions Posted April 5, 2012 Share #6 Posted April 5, 2012 The tag looks similar in construction to 20's-30's workwear.
Eric Posted May 5, 2012 Share #7 Posted May 5, 2012 I have the exact same 'uniform'. Dont mind the hat, I just placed a bandana over his head.
hc8604 Posted June 29, 2012 Share #8 Posted June 29, 2012 Ironic isn't it....PC has made kids dressing up and playing "war" like we did when we were kids somehow unacceptable. Yet, modern kids can sit for hours on end in front of their PlayStations and wipe out virtual armies and no-one bats an eye-lid!? Kids still go out and play "war." Airsoft is popular these days in many parts of the world and many spend a lot of money to mimic their real counterparts. Then there is always video games... why go out and break a sweat when you can stay indoors and sit in front of the computer without lifting a finger (besides clicking the mouse).
