Hello,

yes no problem.

The suspension was newer. Maybe a replacement. Its Marked with "MT - GI", so its a newer one.

The medal ring was damaged and the medal have some scratches. Someone is tread on it.

it looks like the medal is 100% good but the suspension has been replaced later on.

1) the medal definitely has the look of a ww2 era strike due to the detail and patina.

2) engraving looks right for ww2

3)suspension was replaced maybe even by the vet himself but more likely by a family member

maybe try to find a ww2 era suspension for the medal.

cheers michael

Someone could have taken the original ribbon and brooch off your medal to fix another one. That happens a lot.

They would have then put the ribbon you currently have on your medal.
