patches Posted December 28, 2021 Author Share #332 Posted December 28, 2021 Finally found this Iconic Photo of that SHOT UP sign on the Cambodian Border with the Tank speeding by in June 1970, the 11th ACR returning to Vietnam from action in Cambodia. The 588th Engineer Battalion was a 20th Engineer Brigade unit, I believe the 588th Eng Bn built this particular road shortly after the Invasion of Cambodia.. manayunkman Posted December 1, 2022 Share #348 Posted December 1, 2022 She had 4 combat jumps too. Many years ago I found a scrap book that a young 18 year old woman kept who was a pen pal with General Patton and would send him care packages. There were 28 letters from Patton most were short and typed but at the end of one letter Patton jotted a note in which he said “Marlene Dietrich loved your chocolates”. The scrap book contained one of the last letters Patton ever wrote and was post dated the day of his accident.
