gwb123 Posted March 19, 2012 Share #3 Posted March 19, 2012 Thats a pretty nice Mid 70's jacket you got there. Not to split hairs, but it looks like an early issue poplin jungle fatigue jacket with mid'70's insignia. That makes it interesting. Most likey it did not come through supply channels but was either left over from an earlier assignment or it was privately procured from a surplus store. That was not unusual in the 70's, and a lot of troops preferred the poplin jackets.
doyler Posted March 19, 2012 Share #4 Posted March 19, 2012 Also appears that he had Sgt rank on the lower sleeves and removed??? The insignias are all later 70s US made.Possible he was in a Ranger Company in Korea as the scroll is a recreation of the scrolls they used then. Maybe research on the vets name will turn up more info
oddmod Posted March 19, 2012 Share #5 Posted March 19, 2012 Nice looking jacket, congratulations. I am curious the seller says "Dsa tagged/dated 110-2093, which places it as around 1965", if the jacket was from 1965 wouldn't it be a 1st or 2nd pattern jacket?
