Meaning of UDT markings

I recently picked up a large grouping from a guy that was in UDT11 in the very early 60's. Almost everything he has is marked: UDT-11 38. I understand the UDT-11, but what is the 38?

Hawk

Thats cool.Im not sure if it was his class number(CLASS 38) or a

equipment roster number he used while in UDT 11

I'll venture it was his individual unit ID much like a callsign: "Hawkdriver~11 or ~26, ~31; etc " might ID your unit and which pilot in that unit.

River Patrol

Probably a Locker number on a boat or on base.
