screaming-eagle Posted January 8, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 8, 2007 this ribbon bar is on my grandfathers ww2 uniform, he was in the 3rd airforce, i am not positive but i think he was some kind of plane mechanic or ordenance type a guy. any help on this ribbon will be appreciated! Jason G Posted January 8, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 8, 2007 thank you, its wierd none of my family new that, not even my grandmother I heard a story about these; almost as soon as the vet stepped off the boat, there was a rep from the VFW, handing these out (not sure how true it is) depending on the port of embarktion. I'm not sure if the vet had to join the VFW at the time, or it was just something they did...but the amount of these things I've seen pinned to uniforms as well as in cigar boxes of vets stuff tends to make me a believer Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
