1942 Medical Dept Od wool blanket

It looks like any other OD wool blanket except for the tag with the Medical Dept stock number. The first I have ever encountered.

Very nice. A new one on me also. I found a white and maroon blanket dated 1942 last weekend. I wasn't aware that OD versions existed. Thanks for sharing.

Fixbayonets!

Hard enough to find regular issue WWII blankets with readable tags so this is indeed a nice find! I have also only come across one of these blankets, a vet (ETO medic) gave it to me some years ago. Here is a photo of the tag for comparison, dated January 1945.

Hi,

 

It's hard to find a blanket with readable tag.

I've also a medical blanket with the "U.S." in the middle. It's practically the same as you robinb, the same month, but at 5 day intervals.
