That's my dad! Our last name is Ivey. He past away in '94. Great man!!! Have a lot of research on the plane. B29's ruled!!

Sorry, replying to the post with the B29 "Poison Ivy". My dad's nickname was "Flip" as you can see. It's because that's what they called a slingshot on Georgia, where he grew up..... Would like to hear from anyone that knew him or any of the crew

Thats pretty neat to see his name on the lower front landing gear cover.

This is the nose art of a relative who served as a tail gunner. I had never heard of the cartoon character----maybe someone can send me an example of this cartoon from an old paper. This aircraft and art was the third B-24 flown by the crew of Dave Ogden. The first one they brought from US was given to another crew. The second one named "Worry Bird" crashed while they were on leave.

"Fat Stuff" was a cartoon character in the very popular aviation-based

comic strip , "Smilin' Jack", by cartoonist Zack Mosely, which ran from the 1930's throught the 1950s or 60s I believe. "Fat Stuff" always had buttons popping off his shirt!

Interesting to note I'm the namesake of the Flight Engineer on this ship!
