US Victory Museum Posted December 27, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 27, 2007 A few of the Ike uniforms on display at the US Victory Museum. The biggest problem we have displaying women's uniforms is that some are so small, we cannot find any mannequins that are small enough to dress. When the museum was open for Dec. 7th, I had the 11 year old daughter of one of the collectors wear the PTO uniform. It was 1 & 1/2 inches too wide at the shoulder, but the rest of the uniform fit her perfectly. It's a size 10. You have to see the darts sewn into the back of the tunic to believe it! This uniform was originally tailored to fit like a glove. The woman who wore it in WWI couldn't have weighted more than 95 lbs. SHAFE. ETO. PTO. ETO. US Victory Museum Posted December 27, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted December 27, 2007 PTO Can anyone identify what each of the ribbons represents? To limit the number of follow-ups, please do it only if you can identify ALL of them. Start with the top left and go across.
US Victory Museum Posted December 27, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted December 27, 2007 ETO (Unpatched) This uniform was also made at Lè Pelican in Paris in 1945. We have others that were made by this same shop. Does anyone know whether they're still in business? They must have been very well known, or very popular at the time.
