Adam R Posted June 9, 2013 Share #32 Posted June 9, 2013 Kurt, It's great that you were able to get some documentation on the LoM and Purple Heart from the personnel file. Very lucky that it survived the fire! Having the details on the awards really brings the group to life. (And the photo is great too.) The February 1943 wound date for the PH is interesting. I wonder what the specifics were on the injury. Obviously some sort of mistreatment by the Japs.

KASTAUFFER Posted June 5, 2015 Author Share #36 Posted June 5, 2015 I just recently acquired the grouping to the American Col. who was the Adjutant of the Hoten POW camp in Mukden Manchuria. In his group was Col. Chase's Japanese POW camp card. What a small world.

KASTAUFFER Posted January 21, 2018 Author Share #39 Posted January 21, 2018 Col. Theodore M. Chase Well, I did my best to keep this group together today. All I can say is I cost the high bidder a chunk of money. if I hadn't been bidding it would have gone for less than $1000. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/58645543_archives-of-col-tm-chase
