gitana Posted February 22, 2012 Share #2 Posted February 22, 2012 Maybe the specification for labeling the shell changed at some point, or the manufacturers (more than one have "shell only" on the label) changed it based on what was required of them. I looked up two on ebay real quick and the one with "shell only" has the NSN and the contract (?) number (with date); the one without has only the NSN and a model number. I have seen some MSA ACH Helmets that doesn't have the (Shell Only) on the sticker. Good Question… maybe MSA only makes the shell and sub-contracts the chinstrap and pads and assembles them.
