siege1863 Posted February 12, 2012 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2012 Picked up a RARE "short snorter" from Marine Bombing Squadron 443 (VMB-443). It belonged to one of the navigator-bombardiers and was signed by more than 80 members. The squadron flew the PBJ-1C and PBJ-1D (and later the PBJ-1J) versions of the B-25 Mitchell medium bomber. Fortunately for my research, everything one could want to know about the unit, including history, rosters, and photos, has been posted to a website (http://www.vmb443.com)! The owner, Dwight D. Dunbar, is identified by the "X" in the crew photo.

Skysoldier80 Posted April 6, 2020 Share #14 Posted April 6, 2020 Very cool. My grandpa served as a Ground Defense Machine Gunner in this squadron. I have a lot from this Squadron including a patched Bomber Jacket as well as a bunch of stuff from my Grandpa.
