M113 driver Posted September 1, 2024 #252 Posted September 1, 2024 I picked this Japanese made air pilot knife at the Okeechobee flee market a few weeks ago.The guy was asking 60$ for it and started telling me how rare it was and that it was a Vietnam issue knife. I told him it was not an issued knife but I thought they were sold in the PX. I probably over paid for it but I gave him 50$ for it and went on my way. it doesn’t say anything on it other then Japan, but it is in pretty good shape, it’s not parkerized I think it’s blued and it sharpened up pretty good. I don’t have one in my collection so I thought what the heck. Why not. I guess what my question is, is it as big a piece of crap this some seem to think. it seems pretty tight.
Bebel Posted September 27, 2024 #253 Posted September 27, 2024 Hello, The two JPK I had in my aviation collection. I'm not a knives collector. But I had to have them for my pilots! Franck
Choctaw Dan Posted November 24, 2024 #254 Posted November 24, 2024 I have collected pilot survival knives going back into WWII. Here are my examples of the Jet Pilot Survival Knives from the larger collection:
Cobra 6 Actual Posted November 24, 2024 #255 Posted November 24, 2024 Thanks for posting, Choctaw Dan! Great collection!
VNAMVET70 Posted November 24, 2024 #256 Posted November 24, 2024 The Jet Pilot Survival Knife has always been one of my favorite military issued knives. I Have a JPSK to represent every year from 1959-1975, from Milpar, Camillus, to Ontario. Love the 6" blade. The JPSK is an iconic knife in that it is hard to mistake it for anything else. Similar to the Eiffel Tower in that it is instantly recognizable.

otter42 Posted February 7 #258 Posted February 7 Here's my Japan made one, even the cheap sheath is stamped Japan. Couldn't pass it up. Probably paid less then it cost new!
