teufelhunde.ret Posted January 19, 2012 Share #1 Posted January 19, 2012 Have waited a long time for this to show up at my door, finally in the nest. Now, how long to wait for the right mate? A favorite piece in any collection and no other USMC emblems has this color. I've seen and own many fire bronze emblems however but the tint of this EGA is quite distinctly red, It is finished with the color and unsure how or what the maker did to get it this color or what "fire bronze" actually means in relationship to this specific emblem. I date this emblem pre WW1, absent the applied contients, applied continent use began in the early 20's and still in use today.

normaninvasion Posted January 20, 2012 Share #13 Posted January 20, 2012 D, a beautiful piece! Someday I hope to add a set to my collection, as I'm sure photos don't convey the real highlights of these unique egas. Mating these works of art is a helluva quest. Which begs the question....why so many singles? There are a couple easy anwsers but is there more too it?
