?? Leather strap

This came in a grouping and I have no idea what it is. I thought it was part of a Sam Brown shoulder strap, but the buckles are way to big. It is narrower than a rifle sling and only one row of holes for the buckles. It is still tied with the original cordage, so I don't quite know how long it is. Any ideas?

How long are they? and are they different lengths? they look like the straps for the M-1 rifle scabbard as used by the cavalry and later on jeeps and other things. They were pretty long and there was a long and short strap.

They have the original ties on them, I never took those off. I will see if I can untie them without cutting them. That would make sense, they are a single hole strap, but the buckles are larger than expected.

Measured it and it's 7/8" wide. Almost looks like replacement straps for the leather carbine scabbards??

That's what I was thinking.
