I picked this up 2 weeks ago at a shop. I have only ever seen one other crate for .22 LR ammo.

Are these rare and is there much value in them? I'm looking to sell this one to fund a project.

 

I can provide better pics on requst.

The sides are solid, the bottom has seen better days. But still good for display.

Thanks for posting the pics of your .22LR crate. Neat. I have seen a few of them over the years but many fewer than are seen for the .30-06, .30 Carbine and .45 ACP ammo. The government bought a ton--correction many tons--of .22LR ammo in WW2 for training and marksmanship purposes. This looks like a Remington crate, probably for the R17L dogbone boxes in 500 round cartons.
