mobrigade Posted December 11, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 11, 2007 I have only recently started collecting Vietnam. I have always only been a Civil War and WWII Marine collector. Anyway....I'm still learning about this grouping, I bought it at an auction this weekend, the guy was in 'Nam, and was a retired CIA agent, that died of lung cancer. He had 45 guns that he gave to his brother, but sold the rest. Thanks for looking.

Spike Posted December 11, 2007 Share #5 Posted December 11, 2007 Sorry to step on your puppy but that is not a Vietnam era beret, looks like something that was made recently.
mobrigade Posted December 11, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted December 11, 2007 What era is it then, and why? I knew not all the items were Vietnam, so your not stepping on anyone's "puppy." Thanks
Copran Posted December 11, 2007 Share #7 Posted December 11, 2007 Hello, I think Spike was right, the beret is made with the Tiger Stripe pattern from the 80s, Ripstop Tiger Stripe was used in the last year of the war, after all US service left the country and the pattern is no the one of your beret. Maybe something that the vet wore during the reunion Regards What era is it then, and why? I knew not all the items were Vietnam, so your not stepping on anyone's "puppy." vintageproductions Posted December 13, 2007 Share #10 Posted December 13, 2007 I believe the patch on the ball cap is from the mid to late 1980's.
