Hello

Here are some better photos of the Experimental Helmets my Great Uncle brought back from the Great War.

Thanks

Mark

It appears that there was a cord that tied the three sections of the liner together, which has not been present for many decades.

How did my cat get in your picture. You are a lucky man indeed.

...another great one, both nearly complete. Your find is almost as good as finding a bar of gold in the attic! $ $

I wonder how many of these and other interesting items are lurking about, undiscovered, just waiting to be found? This one had been in an attic above a garage since the place was built in 1950. Circa 1990 it was moved to another garage and was packed away in the rafters until this Christmas Eve night when I dug it out. I had known where it was, just never thought to get it out of it's suspended animation.

As for Circe, the Tabby in the photo, she loves the Army blanket this was photoed on, it is almost impossible to get photos without her in them at times. But she is welcome to be in any of my photos.

Hello Mark ;

This one is the No.2 Experimental helmet , also nick-named "Deep Salad".

The one you show us here has not the original helmet chinstraps and not the original liner

The liner is almost always missing , chinstrap is often present.

Regards , Paul
