TomcatPC Posted December 27, 2011 #1 Posted December 27, 2011 HelloI think this is a trouser belt from the 1st World War? I found it at my Dad's on Christmas Eve, whilst knocking around in the garage. I think it might be one of my Great Uncles who Served in the US Army during the Great War, if it is what I think it is?ThanksMark
TomcatPC Posted December 27, 2011 Author #2 Posted December 27, 2011 Attempt at a photo of the buckle. It reads: "Anchor Brand, Pat. Jan. 12, 04"
MattOravik Posted December 27, 2011 #3 Posted December 27, 2011 It looks like it to me. I have a similar one somewhere. -Matt.
doyler Posted December 27, 2011 #4 Posted December 27, 2011 I agree.WW1 era belt.Have several with the trousers. I see kitty likes it too
TomcatPC Posted December 27, 2011 Author #5 Posted December 27, 2011 I was fairly certain that it was a First World War belt, but I'd rather be cautious and act like I know less than I do LOL, than the other way around LOL. Yes, Circe really enjoys photobombing LOL. For some reason our Cats really like old canvas and wool. She has been laying on the blanket whenever it is on the deck LOL. The Cat we had a couple years ago had a fetish for shelter haves LOL. Thanks Mark
doyler Posted December 27, 2011 #6 Posted December 27, 2011 Mark You have some nice stuff.Good to have the family connections too. Those helmets are a collectors grail. Recently handled a betl where the buckle looked like the normal one.On the part that clinches to the belt were the letters.......USMC My free loaders also like army stuff
