Not my field at all, but a friend's grandfather waa a pilot in it, and I finally found he was in the 139th- so now to try and find a unit history or something. Anyone know if there is one, or where I might find a copy? (aside from the National Archives)

You Might try Google, the 139th was a Pursuit Squadron ( Fighter)of the 2nd Pursuit Group, along with the 13th, 22nd, 49th Pursuit Squadrons. The Squadron went operational June 30th 1918. Hope this helps Paul
