Huh? From what country? Okay, slight sarcasm aside is a rossette for the Air Medal something new?
It looks like the Air Force Merit Civilian Service Award to me.

Interesting; no wonder I never heard of it though I've worn many of those decorations for over forty years...I'm noe ehar old {mild sarcasm intended}

not to sound ignorant.....but what are the significance of rosettes? How were they worn?

A rosette is worn in the lapel of a jacket and is made to be a "buttoner"(in the button hole), rather then a lapel pin.
