Two Grunts of the 24th Div West Germany circa 1968, is it me or does the one on the left look like he's wearing a ERDL, or if you prefer Woodland cover!

This Grunt of the 24th Div's 2nd Bn 34th Inf (Mech), West Germany in early 1968 DOESN'T have Foliage on his helmet, But I just didn't know where to post this great photo. So lets just post him here, M14 Rifle, muddy galoshes and all :D

Member of Company A 2nd Battalion 502nd Infantry 101st Airborne Division at Chu Lai, Vietnam wearing some sort of animal horns along with what appears to be straw. Not sure if this was meant to be camouflage or he was just hamming it up for the camera.

This guy's photo is shown as an example of the Vietnam war term FUGAZI , yeah is seen in this gigantic late 80s book on Vietnam, in the NAMSPEAK section

Their definition of FUGAZI is Mad, Screwed Up.

A 4th Armd Div Grunt, he's at Graf in 1969, looks like a Fire and Maneuver Range right, and he's ready to move out. He interestingly carries a Blooper too.

Soldier of the 107th Armored Cavalry Regiment of the Ohio National Guard. Note he is wearing a woodland pattern helmet cover and paratrooper chin strap with OG-107 fatigues along with M-56 web gear.

Great picture, strange he's not wearing his unit shoulder patch. it was out in early 1968, and in subdued by at least mid to late 69.

Some more on the SSI of the 107th ACR OHNG, unit still wearing full color type is seen.

Slight correction Sean, on the Chin Strap is your standard type issued first around mid 70s, the snap on type.

101 again, From the same unit, taken apparently by the same photographer, unit turns out to be the 3rd Bn 187th Inf, during Operation Jefferson Glen, December 1970. Jefferson Glen runs over a year from 5 September 1970 to 6 October 1971.

A group from the 2nd Armored Division (Not seeing a shoulder patch because they wear theirs on the chest above the U.S. ARMY tape) out in the field at Hood, May 1982.

And last one for tonight.

A late 1982-early to mid 1983 Photo of a Wash NG ADA man of the 81st Separate Infantry Brigade (Photo is from the ARMY GREEN BOOK of 1983. Looks like he's wearing a BDU Pile Cap? (see flap laying on shoulder top) Curious as to when these came out, I got out in mid December 1982 from Alaska, got the BDUs up there late, early May 1982, but no BDU pile cap, not even towards the early winter of 1982 (IE Oct-Nov) did we see these.

Patches, I don't think that's a BDU pile cap, but rather a flap from his helmet cover. This was done by soldiers to keep the sun off their necks
