A Female Military Intelligence Captain unit and location unknown, circa 1980 with foliage.

I can't answer for the exact unit, but I believe she was a basic training company commander at Fort Biloxi, which incidentally was also the location where Eugene Jerome took his basic training in 1945.

Found another one with that scrub pine from that same April 81 FTX at Hood, I was sitting on the roof of our APC. That field jacket belongs too my Fire Team Leader and TC, an E-5, who draped it over the TC hatch lid :D

Forgot about this one, out on that May 82 ARTEP at Richardson, found this tiny piece of a vehicle net torn on the ground towards the start of the field problem and took this one long piece of scrim that was on it and tucked it under my band, Kinda like stuck a feather in my cap and called it macaroni

Here's some foliage of a sorts, not the best practical application of this method yes! Could of been worse I guess, he could of covered the helmet with these pink flowers (Flower Power) Troops BTW are from the 1st Bn 6th Inf Americal Feb 1968.

SGT Allan H. Lambert, Co. B, 2nd Battle Group 127th Infantry 32nd Infantry Division during Exercise 'Bristle Cone' at Fort Irwin, CA in Mar. '62. I'm not sure if this was some kind of official desert camouflage cover or field expedient, but it looks like it is intended to show some sort of desert foliage pattern.

Great photo.

To me the cover looks like standard burlap material fitted to the shell then the black outlines were drawn on in marker or paint.

Hmmmm! That El Tee looks like he has a muzzle cap on his flash hider. Doesn't want to get his pretty gun all gunky down the barrel.

When I was a platoon daddy with the 9th ID at Ft. Lewis we had a visiting 3rd El Tee who tried that trick when we were in the field. When he wasn't looking, I took his M16 opened and locked the bolt, set it down in a big mud puddle then closed the bolt under the water. Should have seen the look on his face when he realized his bore looked like a sewer pipe. Platoon sergeants have no mercy. Better to be afraid of me than Comrade Ivan.

Here is an example of a Canadian soldier wearing helmet foliage. However, as the caption states, there is a U.S. connection: "A Canadian Seaforth Highlander poses with his C2 LMG, Fort Lewis, WA, USA. Early 1980s."

Here are some more pics. If I remember correctly, these are from 65 - 66.

These photos are of the 1st Cav Div during operation Masher/White Wing at Bong Song January 1966.

Here's the more famous image of the wounded GI with the bandage on his head, Spec 4 Thomas Cole, a Medic in the 2nd Bn 7th Cav.
