M1 Sling, Weave Variation

I picked this one up last night, any thoughts on it. It is MRT MARCH 61 stamped. The material is a tight weave, almost like M1 OD7 chin straps and thinner than a standard sling. Is this a early M-14 sling?

Here is the sling in question next to a standard M1 sling.

Hi All,

May 52 seems a little early for an M14.

There is a seller

here

who is apparently taking slings with the same treatment date out of sealed packages supplied with unused 1950's supplied Garands.

I hope this helps (not really my subject).

Best Regards,

Prof

The 52 dated one is only on there for reference, it's the 61 dated thin material that is in question.

Sorry, I thought it was the same one, double stamped.

I think he's referring to the M20 Super Bazzoka

check the pics on this site,i think that is what it might be

According to this site it was used concurrently with the RR.

Actually the sling in the link i posted lacks a slide buckle so it's not the same as yours, the weave is spot on to yours however, so maybe an improved version?
