Here is one I've had for a while with a really interesting story.

 

The sailor survived the Pearl Harbor attack while attached to the USS San Franciso, then transferred to the USS Indianapolis and participated in many battles in the Pacific including Tarawa, Saipan, Palau, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and air strikes on Tokyo. Unfortunately, he made the ultimate sacrifice near the end of the war when the Indianapolis was sunk by a Japanese sub on July 30, 1945, after completing a secret mission to deliver components for the Hiroshima atomic bomb.
