Navy Rockers

Through one means or another, I managed to NOT keep up with any of my rockers from my Navy days. So, now that I've decided to start collecting them, I truly had to start from scratch. I'd like to replace the rockers from my personal past...ships/units that I was attached to or had some direct connection with. Beyond that, though, I'd like to collect rockers from the Amphib Navy...both ships and other deployable commands (ACU, BMU, etc.).

 

Within just a few days, I'm off to a modest, but happy start. My former active duty ship was the USS Nassau (LHA-4), so I got an old shipmate to send me one of those. A co-worker that is a USS Wasp (LHD-1) vet made a donation and I picked up USS Guadalcanal (LPH-7) was picked up near an Army base (go figure) this past weekend.

did you serve on any ships besides gators?

Nope. Only did one active duty enlistment and that was on a gator. The rest of my time was in the Reserves. Got caught up in post Gulf War cuts, or I'd have stayed on active duty and in the Gator Navy. Already had orders lined up that would have kept me in the amphib community at least past my ten year mark when they pulled the rug out from under me.
