Nine years later, I finally saw this wonderful thread, which motivated me to start a remembrance on AFTWS and SBTS for Col. Sundlun and the crew - which is a work in progress and will take some time to get as right as can be. It may be found in its current state at the following link:

Just visited this memorial last week with my wife.

My cousin Mike Cappelletti along with 4 other crew members who died are memorialized here.

Luc Packo (local historian) and his family have done an incredible thing in maintaining and even growing this site to recall what happened so many years ago.

It gives you "goose bumps" to stand here and look at the field and imagine....
