Some Afghan made patches

I like the airlines ones too, doesn't Inshallah mean God Willing?

Yep.

If you ever fly into or out of Cairo, every arrival and departure has a time followed by "inshallah"...

I love the "inshallah airlines" one! Everything the ANSF do seems to be followed by "inshallah". Its quite a culture shock to sit and watch an operations brief done by Afghan Army officers: "This force will move over here, and then, inshallah, they will link up with these guys over here". Quite different from the American military saying that "hope is not a method".

Great patches!

I believe the airlines patch is a joke. ANSF Movement team is likely one of the mentors and Inshallah Airlines is the joke as in they aren't moving too fast. Normally when working with the Afghans "inshallah" was their way of saying "no" or "hopefully" without using those words.

I saw a lot of the red SF Commando patches while there--worn by interpreters, random police officers, some regular Army and RARELY the actual commandos. Gotta love when everyone wears a patch but the ones who are allowed to!

Interesting about the Afghan Commando patches being worn by everyone but Commandos while you were in RC-South. I ran into the Commandos with the Afghan 203rd Corps (RC-East) often and the use of that design was fairly wide spread, but in a two piece design. We did however apparently have a problem in our area with ANSF guys using what every patch they thought was "cool", but never the Commando one.

That is what we say, nearly every Afghan with velcro on their uniform wore some patch that didn't belong to them, to include US ones. The commandos generally wore the same uniforms as US SF/Rangers void of patches. There were times at night when I wasn't sure if I was looking at an American or Afghan SF until I spoke to them.

Thanks for the comments. The 'Inshallah Airlines' is actually being worn by US mentors who escort ANA's who transit through Kabul Airfield. I've seen it worn by US Marines and Army.

The 'three star' patch is acually my Belgian captains patch I had made overhere by a local taylor. The red beret flash is an Afghan attempt at redoing my own beret flash :-)
