chcole1 Posted November 15, 2011 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2011 Here's a group of patches I'm trying to identify. I feel like I've seen them before put not sure where. The colors remind be of some of the German Labor Service patches. They came with some US Army 50's/60s subdued patches. Unfortunately I don't have them yet to take pics of the backs. Any ideas? Teamski Posted November 15, 2011 Share #2 Posted November 15, 2011 I HGHLY doubt they are military related at all. They look like novelty patches to me. -Ski
Garth Thompson Posted November 16, 2011 Share #3 Posted November 16, 2011 They are definately NOT Labor Service patches. I'm with ski these aren't military but some kind of novelty patches.
all-bull Posted November 16, 2011 Share #4 Posted November 16, 2011 I would do more research into West German patches before I would consider them entirely novelty.
horsa Posted November 16, 2011 Share #5 Posted November 16, 2011 might be Swiss.
Teamski Posted November 16, 2011 Share #6 Posted November 16, 2011 might be Swiss. I have been collecting world unit insignia for 30+ years. These are not Swiss! -Ski
gwb123 Posted November 16, 2011 Share #7 Posted November 16, 2011 I'm going to go out on a limb and guess these are not military. They look like some kind of embelishments for a civilian fashion item.

Randy Posted November 16, 2011 Share #9 Posted November 16, 2011 Maybe for Mardi Gras or if German made, Fasching costumes. Randy

gwb123 Posted November 17, 2011 Share #11 Posted November 17, 2011 Thanks for all the comments–serious and less so. What are Fasching costumes? Chris Fasching is the German version of Carnival or Mardis Gras. It can get pretty wild. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnival_in_G...and_and_Austria
