fstop61 Posted November 11, 2011 Share #1 Posted November 11, 2011 alright fellows (and fellowettes) found this Thompson mag pouch and three-mags at an estate sale today. The pouch is unmarked and the mags are as follows: 2-Auto Ordnance 1-Seymour Products. I know enough about Thompson stuff to be dangerous. So...is this USGI stuff or reproduction ? I throw myself at your mercy, don't beat me up too bad. (see pics) THANKS ! a couple more @ 2nd post

maskman Posted November 11, 2011 Share #3 Posted November 11, 2011 Seymour was a sub contractor and furnished replacement mags. Not sure what vintage though. I have several marked that way. The Auto Ord is original equipment.
OD MAN Posted November 11, 2011 Share #4 Posted November 11, 2011 The unmarked pouch is almost definitely a Soviet lend-lease pouch. If you do a search you should get several results. Justin
ThompsonSavage Posted November 12, 2011 Share #5 Posted November 12, 2011 I could be wrong, but I think these unmarked pouches can also be found in the pre-war Auto Ordnance catalogue...
Sabrejet Posted November 12, 2011 Share #6 Posted November 12, 2011 The minty lend-lease pouches and pistol belts etc., are simply USGI minus the "US" stamp.

ThompsonSavage, Yes, pouches like this are listed in the pre-war Auto-Ordnance catalogs, however this one is not a pre-war pouch. It's a legitimate WWII pouch, and likely came from the Russian lend lease stock that OD MAN mentioned. The magazines are also WWII vintage. KABAR2, Yes, many of the 5-cell TSMG pouches are marked in that manner, on either side of the inside of the belt loop. I had someone give me a strange glance at a show this weekend when I looked inside the loop of a pouch they had for sale, but then I showed them the marking, and they appreciated knowing it was there.
