Residence Country:

Current - North Georgia, United States

Places I have lived more than 5 years - California, Germany, Washington, Wisconsin, South Carolina

Time of Collecting:

About 30 years

Main Focus:

Unit insignia (mostly Field Artillery and State Guard), medals, photographs of identified artillery units with their guns. I have started to look at unit insignia differently - by what they depict: weapons, vehicles, dinosaurs, cartoon characters (Disney, Snoopy, etc). And how the border between what is official and unofficial is continually blurred.

Dallas, Texas

Since returning from my third and final tour to Viet Nam in 1970

USGI arsenal made dummy/training/inert cartridges, grenades, etc.

WW2 shotshell ammo, conscripted or USGI issue.

USGI rifles, shotguns, pistols and revolvers.

Bayonets, knives, miscellaneous web and leather accessories.

I've quit collecting and am starting to thin out my collection.

Retired now, but when not substitute teaching, my current interest is going to local estate sales and rescuing USGI items and finding new homes for them with local collectors.

Residence:

USA, Tennessee

Time Collecting:

A month, maybe, officially (been "picking things up" for about 25 years, from my own time in service, as well as my general interest in military history)

Main Focus(es):

Generally - Sea Service related patches (all sea service related branches)

Specifically -

* Gulf War (Desert Shield/Storm) coalition naval forces, but especially American Amphibious Task Force ships and embarked units (both USN and USMC)

* Amphibious/Coastal/Riverine/Expeditionary related patches; what used to be called green water and brown water or now the littoral zone. All 20th Century - Present (Army Amphibian units, USCG, Beachmasters, Navy Amphib ships, even state naval militias would fit into that broad category)

* Lastly, I'm interested in patches or other items from ships/units that have a personal connection to myself, as well as my family members that served in the military
