DMD Posted November 25, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 25, 2007 This is from my collection, obtained from the Max show several years ago. Although it only has an incised "sterling" mark on the back, it looks exactly like a Norsid pattern wing. I understand that the wings procured by the AAF were not supposed to have any maker's marks on back. Is it possible that this one was made by Norsid for sale to the government? I know you see the same pattern being used by different manufactureres, but I have not seen this detail except on the Norsids. The area between the heavy lines on the shield is stippled, instead of the fine vertical lines that you usually see. I would like to hear from the wing collectors, waddya think? DMD Posted November 25, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted November 25, 2007 The back of the wings. The flat back and the way the shield is recessed is exactly the same on a Norsid. But it lacks the "Norsid Co. / N.Y.C." marking.
