Dose anyone know what the marking under the LMN represents. This is the second time I’ve come across this design. I do not remember where I saw it the first time. Because it was so small I thought it had no significance. Now I ‘m thinking it may indicate something specific. I’m assuming the LMN is the owner’s initials. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The Bag is a USN marked Boyt 1944 USMC style musette bag.

The marking is a solid black circle a little smaller than a dime with a solid quarter moon shape under it. Above are the letters L.N.M. The letters are about 2" high. Again the letters may be the owner's initials.

Inside the bag, are there any small loops or straps? Do the dog ears snap down? If so, a late war corpsman's bag?
