Davis buckle and belt

Found this today at a show.I use to see lots of these at the surplus stores back in the early 80s.This one appears to be almost unworn to me.Nice finnished and the markings are ledgible

Great find!

 

Weird coincidence.. I also just picked up (my first) Davis belt the other day, although it was vertical weave, but was only $5 at a flea market.

Was wondering when these were issued?

And the one you show looks to be the style material ,i have one its the shiny nylon type material .

I beleive they were issued in vietnam in small numers just to test them out and they failedand would come undone quite often from what I have read anyways.

I was in Vietnam from Oct. '68 to Oct '69 and the only Davis buckled belts I remember seeing were worn by officers. They were more of a prestige item.
